Acceptable Use Policy
Octoque is for publishing your own work to your own accounts. These rules keep it safe for everyone, and they apply to everything you upload, schedule or publish with Octoque, and to how you use the service.
Content you must not upload, schedule or publish
- Content you don’t have the right to use, or that infringes anyone’s copyright, trademark or other rights.
- Content that is obscene or pornographic, sexualises children in any way, or is harmful to children.
- Intimate images of anyone shared without their consent, including fakes made with AI.
- Content that invades someone’s privacy (including bodily privacy), or that harasses, threatens or bullies anyone, including because of gender, race, ethnicity, religion, disability or sexual orientation.
- Content that promotes hatred or violence against groups, terrorism, or that incites any offence.
- Content that relates to or encourages money laundering, illegal gambling, or online games that aren’t permitted where you are.
- Information you know is false or misleading and present as true, including manipulated or AI-generated media presented as real.
- Content that impersonates any person or organisation.
- Content that threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India or any country, friendly relations with other states, or public order.
- Malware, phishing, or any code designed to harm or take over systems or accounts.
- Undisclosed advertising, and any content that breaks the law where you or your audience are, or the rules of the platform you publish to.
Ways you must not use Octoque
- Spam: bulk or repetitive posting meant to manipulate reach, fake engagement, or accounts you don’t control.
- Getting around a platform’s limits, rules or bans, or posting to accounts that aren’t yours or that you aren’t authorised to manage.
- Trying to break into, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer Octoque, or to test its security without our written permission (to report a security problem, write to hello@octoque.com).
- Sharing your account or API keys outside your team, or reselling Octoque without an agreement with us.
AI-generated content
If you publish content made or changed with AI so that it looks real, label it clearly as AI-generated where the law or the platform requires it (for example in the EU and India), and keep any labels or metadata it came with.
What happens if rules are broken
We may remove or disable content, cancel scheduled posts, or restrict, suspend or close accounts, choosing the least severe step that fixes the problem. We tell you what we did, why, and how to challenge it, as set out in section 5 of the Terms. We close the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe others’ rights. Where the law requires it, we report offences to the authorities and keep records for the time the law requires.
How to report
Use the report form or email hello@octoque.com. Tell us where the content is (a link, or the post or account name), why you think it breaks the law or these rules, your name and email, and confirm that your report is accurate. You’ll get a reference number by email straight away, and we’ll tell you our decision.
- Intimate images shared without consent, or impersonation: we act within 2 hours of a complaint, and in every case within 48 hours.
- Other illegal content: within 36 hours.
- Orders from courts or authorities: within the time the order or the law sets.
Copyright notices (United States, 17 U.S.C. §512)
Send a notice to our designated agent, to be added, to be added, hello@octoque.com, or use the copyright form. Include:
- your physical or electronic signature;
- the copyrighted work you say is infringed;
- the material you say infringes it, and where it is, precisely enough for us to find it;
- your address, phone number and email;
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the use isn’t authorised by the owner, its agent or the law;
- a statement that the information is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner.
Counter-notice. If your content was removed by mistake, send us (by the counter-notice form or to the agent above) your signature; what was removed and where it was; a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification; your name, address and phone number; your consent to the jurisdiction of the US federal district court for your address (or, if you’re outside the US, any district where we may be found); and that you’ll accept service from the person who sent the notice. We forward it to them and restore the content in 10 to 14 business days unless they tell us they’ve filed a court action.
Knowingly false notices or counter-notices can make you liable for damages.
