The short answer

Octoque auto-publishes text posts, link posts, photos, galleries of up to 20 photos and videos to the Reddit community you choose, with a title, flair, and NSFW or spoiler tags.

Reddit is opt-in per post: new posts don’t include it until you tap it, because every community has its own rules. Octoque checks the community exists as you type, and shows its rules in the Reddit card. Reddit asks everyone to follow each community’s rules and not to spam.^[1]

What you can post on Reddit with Octoque

Everything marked Auto-publish goes out on its own at the time you set. You get a notification when it’s live, or a plain explanation if Reddit turned it down.

Reddit’s limits, and Octoque’s

Reddit’s own rules are linked from the sections above and in the sources at the end of this page.

What Octoque itself allows on Reddit today:

Captions up to 40,000 characters, with a live counter under the caption.
Octoque sets no video length of its own here: Reddit’s own limit applies.
Up to 20 photos in a gallery, or one video. Files: MP4, MOV, JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 1 GB.

How Octoque handles Reddit

Community checked as you type

Type the community name and Octoque checks it with Reddit right away, so a typo can’t send your post nowhere. Its rules open from the Reddit card.

Never picked by default

A post for Instagram and TikTok doesn’t quietly land on Reddit too. Reddit needs a community and a title, so you add it on purpose.

Fix the text, not the title

Edit the body of a text post from Octoque after it’s live. Reddit never allows a title change, so Octoque asks for the title before scheduling.

Messages in one place

Reddit DMs show in Octoque’s inbox with your other messages. Replies are text only.

When it posts: 8 am, then your own hour

Golden hour start8 amin your audience’s time zone

Pick “Each platform at its golden hour” and Reddit goes out at 8 am where your audience lives, not where you are. It’s a starting point that adapts: once your posts have results, your own best hours take over.

How to connect Reddit

In Octoque, open Connected accounts and tap Connect next to Reddit.
Sign in on Reddit’s own page and allow access. Octoque never sees your password.
Make a post, tap your Reddit account, and pick a community and a title.

What you can’t do on Reddit, and why

Some limits are Reddit’s, set in its official API; a few are Octoque’s own for now. Here they are, so nothing surprises you after you’ve scheduled.

Change a post’s title. Reddit doesn’t allow it after posting, from any app.
Post where a community doesn’t want it. Each community sets its own rules, and Reddit’s own rules ask you to take part in communities you’re interested in and not to spam.^[1] Octoque shows the rules; following them is up to you.
Mix videos into a gallery. A gallery is photos only; a video goes on its own.
Read Reddit comments in Octoque. Reddit DMs are in the inbox; comment replies stay on Reddit.

Questions people ask

Why isn’t Reddit picked on my new post?

Reddit needs a community and a title for each post, and every community has its own rules. So Octoque never adds it on its own: tap the account to add it.

Can I post the same video to Reddit and my other platforms?

Yes, when the community allows it. Pick Reddit in the same post and add the title and community.

Can I add flair?

Yes. If the community uses flair, pick one in the Reddit card. Some communities require it.

Can I edit a Reddit post after it’s live?

The text of a text post, yes, from the post in Octoque. Never the title: Reddit doesn’t allow it.
