Post one video to every platform at once

Upload a video once. Octoque turns it into a native post on each platform you pick, from Instagram, TikTok and YouTube to LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Threads, Pinterest, Bluesky and Reddit, each with the right caption and each at the hour its audience is awake.

The short answer

In Octoque you upload one video or photo, pick your accounts, write one caption (or a different one per platform) and choose “Each platform at its golden hour”. Octoque then sends your original file to each platform through its official API.

Each copy is a native post: a Reel on Instagram, a direct post on TikTok, a Short on YouTube. No watermark from another app, no link back to a different platform.

How it works, in four steps

  1. Drop the video or photos. MP4, MOV, JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 1 GB. Several files make a carousel. It uploads straight from your browser to Octoque.
  2. Pick where it goes. Your connected accounts are picked to start; tap any to leave it out. Reddit, Pinterest and Google Business Profile are added on purpose, because each needs its own choices.
  3. Write the caption. One caption goes everywhere. Open a platform’s tab to write a different one just for it. A counter under the caption shows each platform’s limit.
  4. Choose when. Each platform at its golden hour, the next slot in your queue, now, or one time for all.

Octoque lists anything still missing above the button, in plain words (“add a YouTube title”, “choose who can see this on TikTok”), so a greyed-out button never leaves you guessing.

Octoque’s New post screen: an uploaded video, six accounts picked, caption tabs for Everywhere, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, X and Threads, a counter for each, and a preview
One New post screen for every platform. The counters check the caption against each limit: Instagram 2,200, TikTok 2,200, YouTube 5,000, LinkedIn 3,000, X 280 and Threads 500.

What changes on each platform

The video stays the same. What each platform needs around it differs, and Octoque asks for it only when that platform is picked.

One caption, or one per platform

Say your caption is 600 characters. It fits Instagram and TikTok (2,200), LinkedIn (3,000), YouTube’s description (5,000) and Facebook. It doesn’t fit Threads (500), Bluesky (300) or X (280). Octoque marks those in red and won’t post until you fix them.

Open the X tab and write a 200-character version; open Threads and trim to 480. The others keep the long one. Need more room on X, Threads or Bluesky? Turn the caption into a thread of up to 10 posts. If you change your mind, “Use the main caption” puts a platform back on the shared text.

X counts every link as 23 characters and emoji as 2,[4] and Threads counts emoji by their encoded size,[5] so leave a little room on those two. The free caption fitter and character counter check a caption against every platform at once.

Each platform at its own hour

Each platform’s audience is most active at a different hour, so one time for all means some copies go out off-peak. With golden hour on, Octoque spreads the post across the day, starting from these hours in your audience’s time zone:

  1. 8 amReddit
  2. in9 amLinkedIn
  3. 9 amThreads
  4. 10 amGoogle Business Profile
  5. 12 pmX
  6. 12 pmBluesky
  7. 1 pmFacebook
  8. 6 pmYouTube
  9. 7 pmInstagram
  10. 8 pmTikTok
  11. 8 pmPinterest

These are starting points, not promises. Once your posts have results, your own best hours take over. Tell Octoque where your audience lives (up to three regions) and the times follow their clock: a creator in Mumbai with followers in New York posts at New York’s evening. No watermarks: each platform gets your original file

The common way to cross-post is to save the video from TikTok and upload it to Instagram and YouTube. That copy carries TikTok’s watermark, and Instagram’s head, Adam Mosseri, has said Instagram tries not to recommend Reels with logos from other apps (your own logo is fine).[2]

Octoque never downloads from one platform to post on another. Here is what happens to your file:

  1. Your browser uploads the file to Octoque once.
  2. At posting time, each platform receives that same file through its official API.
  3. The only time Octoque makes a new copy is when you ask it to trim a video for a platform with a shorter limit. That trimmed copy is cut from your original and goes only to that platform.

Octoque never adds its own logo either. TikTok forbids apps from adding watermarks or promotional branding to posts,[1] and we follow the same rule everywhere.

When a video is too long for some platforms

Octoque’s video limits differ by platform. Take a 4:00 video:

A 4:00 video posted everywhere
PlatformLimit in OctoqueWhat happens
Instagram3:00You choose: keep the start, keep the end, or leave it out
TikTok3:00You choose: keep the start, keep the end, or leave it out
YouTube3:00You choose: keep the start, keep the end, or leave it out
LinkedIn10:00Gets the full video
X2:20You choose: keep the start, keep the end, or leave it out

BlueskyBluesky’s own limitGets the full video; Bluesky’s own limit applies

Trimming happens per platform. Instagram can get the first 3 minutes while LinkedIn, Facebook and Threads get the whole video. A Short over one minute with an active copyright claim is blocked worldwide on YouTube,[3] so check the music before a long Short goes out.

Before you upload

  • Export vertical (9:16). It works on every platform that takes video; YouTube treats a vertical video up to 3 minutes as a Short.[3]
  • Keep words and faces away from the edges. Each app covers the bottom and right side with its buttons and caption.
  • Export without any app’s watermark. Save from your editor, not from a posted TikTok.
  • Use JPG for photos if Instagram is in the mix.
  • Check it first with the free video checker: length, size and shape against every platform.

Questions people ask

Is cross-posting the same video bad for reach?

Posting your own original file natively is different from reposting a watermarked download. Instagram has said it avoids recommending Reels with other apps’ logos,[2] which is why Octoque always sends your original file.

Do all the posts go out at the same time?

Only if you choose “Pick a time” or “Post now”. With golden hour, each goes out at its own hour, from 8 am on Reddit to 8 pm on TikTok and Pinterest, in your audience’s time zone.

Can I leave one platform out of a single post?

Yes. Tap the account to unpick it. If a video is too long for one platform, Octoque also offers “Leave it out” right there.

Can I post a photo everywhere?

Everywhere except YouTube, which needs a video. Octoque tells you and leaves YouTube out of that post. Several photos make a carousel where the platform takes one.

What if one platform fails?

The others still go out. You get a notification saying which platform turned it down and why, and Retry sends only the platforms that failed.

Does it work from my phone?

Yes. Octoque runs in your phone’s browser, and the video uploads straight from your phone.
