Octoque auto-publishes photo pins and video pins to the Pinterest board you choose, with a title, a destination link, a description and alt text. One photo or one video per pin.
When you connect Pinterest you pick a default board. Each pin can go to another board, or a new one. Pinterest is picked on purpose: new posts don’t include it until you tap it, because each pin needs its own board and link.
What you can post on Pinterest with Octoque
Everything marked Auto-publish goes out on its own at the time you set. You get a notification when it’s live, or a plain explanation if Pinterest turned it down.

What Octoque itself allows on Pinterest today:
- Captions up to 800 characters, with a live counter under the caption.
- Octoque sets no video length of its own here: Pinterest’s own limit applies.
- One photo or one video per pin. Files: MP4, MOV, JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 1 GB.
- Pinterest needs a photo or video. Text-only posts leave Pinterest out.
How Octoque handles Pinterest
Pinterest asks for a board on every pin. Octoque uses your default board unless you pick another on the post, and it won’t schedule a pin with no board, so nothing lands on the wrong one.
Add the page the pin should open, like your blog post, shop or YouTube video. Octoque checks it’s a full https:// address before it posts.
Pinterest starts at 8 pm in your audience’s time zone. It’s a starting point: once your pins have results, your own best hour takes over.
Describe the photo in up to 500 characters. It helps people using screen readers, and it tells Pinterest what the pin shows.

Pick “Each platform at its golden hour” and Pinterest goes out at 8 pm where your audience lives, not where you are. It’s a starting point that adapts: once your posts have results, your own best hours take over.
How to connect Pinterest
- In Octoque, open Connected accounts and tap Connect next to Pinterest.
- Sign in on Pinterest’s own page and approve. Octoque never sees your password.
- Pick your default board. Pins go there unless you choose another board on the post.

What you can’t do on Pinterest, and why
Some limits are Pinterest’s, set in its official API; a few are Octoque’s own for now. Here they are, so nothing surprises you after you’ve scheduled.
- Post several photos in one pin. Octoque sends one photo or one video per pin.
- Change a pin after it’s live. Pinterest doesn’t let apps edit a live pin. Octoque can delete it for you, or you can edit it in Pinterest.
- Post a pin without a board. Pick one on the post, or set a default board when you connect.
- Read pin comments in Octoque. Pinterest isn’t in the inbox; reply in the Pinterest app.
Questions people ask
Does Octoque post the pin on its own?
Yes, on paid plans and during the trial. The pin goes to the board you picked at the time you set.
How long can a pin title be?
Up to 100 characters. Pinterest says only about the first 40 show in feeds on most devices,[1] so put the important words first.
Can I make a new board from Octoque?
Yes. Pick New board on the post and name it.
Why isn’t Pinterest picked on my new post?
Each pin needs its own board and link, so Pinterest is added on purpose. Tap the account under Where should it go.
Can I pin the same video I post to TikTok and Reels?
Yes. Pick Pinterest in the same post. It goes out at its own golden hour with its own title and link.
