Track mentions of your brand
Add up to 10 keywords or brand names and Mentions lists the posts that use them on Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram and Threads, newest first. On Studio.
Updated
Before you start
- You’re on the Studio plan.
- For Instagram, your Instagram account is connected.
Steps
- Open Mentions in the menu.
- Add up to 10 keywords or brand names for the workspace.
- New posts that use them show up as they’re found, newest first, with the source, the author, a short piece of the text, a link and the time.
- Filter by source or keyword, open a mention to see the whole post on its platform, and mark it done when you've dealt with it.
What you’ll see
Mentions shows what was found for each keyword. Your Monday email gets a line with how many mentions you had each day.
Where Mentions looks
| Source | What it finds |
|---|---|
| Bluesky | Public posts that use your keyword |
| YouTube | Videos that match your keyword |
| Posts with your hashtag (Instagram allows 30 different hashtags per 7 days per account), and posts that @mention or tag your connected account | |
| Threads | Posts that use your keyword. It needs a permission from Meta, so it switches on once that’s approved |
| X | Off by default, because X charges for every read. It can be switched on with a monthly read limit per workspace |
Mood and topic with Octoque AI
If you ask (Read the mood), Octoque AI reads the mood (positive, neutral or negative) and the topic of new mentions. Each batch uses one AI credit.
What Octoque keeps
Only what each mention needs: the post's id, its link, a short piece of the text (up to 280 characters), the author's handle and the time. Mentions are deleted after 90 days. See the Privacy Policy.
How it compares with big listening tools
Mentions is lighter than full listening tools like Brandwatch or Talkwalker. It looks at the sources above only: no websites, news or forums, and no archive of older posts. The first look goes back about a week; after that it finds new posts as they come.
Troubleshooting
Not switched on yet
That source isn’t ready on Octoque yet. The other sources keep working; it starts on its own once it’s switched on.
Nothing from Instagram
Instagram needs a connected Instagram account, and it allows 30 different hashtags per 7 days per account. Mentions of your own account come in as posts @mention or tag you.
