Connect your TikTok account

Sign in on TikTok and allow Octoque. Each post then asks who can see it, as TikTok requires.

Before you start

  • A TikTok account you can sign in to.
  • Every TikTok post needs a video or photo.
  • In India, TikTok isn’t available; you can still connect an account you run for an audience abroad.

Steps

  1. In Octoque, go to You → Connected accounts.
  2. Tap Connect next to TikTok (or Add another if one is already connected).
  3. Sign in on TikTok’s page and allow Octoque to post for you.
  4. You’re back in Octoque with a note such as “@yourname connected”, and the account shows Connected.

TikTok settings on every post

TikTok’s rules say an app must show your account, let you choose who can see each post with nothing pre-picked, keep comments, Duet and Stitch off until you turn them on, and ask about commercial content. Octoque does all of this in TikTok settings on New post. See TikTok settings explained.

Troubleshooting

  • We can't post to TikTok through this account yet. Leave TikTok out for now.

    TikTok didn’t give us what we need to post to this account. Leave TikTok out of the post. If it lasts more than a day, try Disconnect and connect again, or write to us.

  • We couldn't check your TikTok account just now. Try again in a minute.

    Octoque asks TikTok for your settings each time you make a post. Tap Try again in the TikTok settings box.

  • TikTok says this account can’t post more right now. Try again later, or leave TikTok out.

    TikTok limits how often one account can post through apps. Leave TikTok out of this post, or try again later.

  • Not available in India. You can still connect a TikTok account you run for an audience abroad.

    Octoque shows this note if your account is in India. Connect works the same if you run an account for viewers elsewhere.

  • The connection didn’t finish. Try again.

    The sign-in on TikTok was closed, cancelled or refused. Tap Connect again and allow access on TikTok’s page.

  • That sign-in has expired. Tap Connect to start again.

    You took a while on the platform’s page and the sign-in timed out. Start again; nothing was saved.

  • Too many tries in a row. Wait a minute, then connect TikTok again.

    Wait a minute, then try once more.

  • We couldn't connect TikTok. Try again, and if it keeps happening, write to us from Help.

    TikTok refused the connection. Check the requirements above, then try again. Still failing? Tap Feedback & help → I need help, or email us.

  • We couldn't reach TikTok just now. Try again in a minute.

    TikTok or our connection to it had a short hiccup. Try again in a minute.
