Edit or reschedule a scheduled post

Open the post and tap Edit post: change the caption, add or take out platforms, and change settings or times.

Updated

Steps

  1. Open the post from Calendar, Home or Library.
  2. Tap Edit post. The post opens just like a new one, with everything filled in.
  3. Change the caption (and Write with AI), tap accounts to add or take them out, change each platform’s settings, and pick Keep the times or a new time.
  4. Tap Save changes.

What you’ll see

Platforms that haven’t gone out get the changes; a platform you add goes out with the post. Platforms that are already Live stay as they are.

Change just one platform

Tap Edit next to that platform to change only its caption, time, YouTube title or TikTok settings.

After reconnecting an account

If you disconnect an account and connect the same one again, its posts carry on: ones still to come are scheduled again, and ones whose time passed while it was disconnected wait for Retry. To refresh an account’s permissions, use Sign in again on Accounts instead of disconnecting.

Stop it going out

Tap Move to drafts. Nothing goes out, and you can schedule it again any time.

With approvals on

If your posts need a manager’s approval, editing an approved post sends it back for approval, so what goes out is always what was approved.

Troubleshooting

  • It’s live on some platforms already. Edit each platform separately.

Part of the post is already live, so the shared caption is locked. Edit post applies your caption to the platforms that haven’t gone out.

  • Instagram allows 2,200 characters; this has 2,310. Shorten it in the Instagram tab.

The caption is over that platform’s limit (the numbers change). Shorten it. See Caption limits.

  • There’s no Edit link next to a platform

It’s already Posting, Live or Deleted, or its account was disconnected.

  • A post needs at least one platform. To drop it entirely, delete the post.

You took out every platform. Keep at least one, or go back and tap Delete.
