Connect your Instagram account
Instagram lets apps post only to professional accounts (Business or Creator). Switching is free and takes a minute. No Facebook Page needed.
Updated
Before you start
- An Instagram professional account: Business or Creator. Personal accounts can’t be posted to by any app. Meta’s docs say this API is for “Instagram professionals — businesses and creators”.
- No Facebook Page. Octoque connects with Instagram’s own login, and Meta says this setup “does not require a Facebook Page to be linked”.
- Every Instagram post needs a photo or video.
Steps
- In Octoque, go to You → Connected accounts.
- Tap Connect next to Instagram (or Add another if one is already connected).
- Sign in on Instagram’s page and tap Allow to let Octoque post to your account.
- You’re back in Octoque with a note such as “@yourname connected”, and the account shows Connected.

Switch to a professional account
In the Instagram app (steps from Instagram’s Help Centre, October 2026):
- Go to your profile and tap the menu, then Settings and activity.
- Under For professionals, tap Account type and tools.
- Tap Switch to professional account, pick a category, and confirm.
- Choose Creator or Business and tap Next. Contact details and a Facebook Page are optional; skip them if you like.
Then connect it in Octoque as above.
