Octoque vs Publer: per-account pricing or golden hour?
By Kumar Gaurav, founder of OctoqueUpdated Facts checked
For 1–4 accounts, Publer usually costs less, posts to a few networks Octoque doesn’t (Mastodon, Telegram, WordPress, Facebook Groups) and has phone apps. Octoque makes sense when you want best-time scheduling without paying for Publer’s Business plan (golden hour posts on every paid Octoque plan from $15; on Free it times your reminders, and you post), or when you have 6 or more accounts. Both refund within 14 days of each payment.

Where Publer is better
- Cheaper for a few accounts. Professional starts at $5 a month for one account. Octoque’s cheapest paid plan is $15.
- The widest network list. 13 networks, including Facebook Groups, Mastodon, Telegram and WordPress. Octoque has 11: it adds Reddit, which Publer doesn’t list, but none of those four.
- Creator extras. Canva and watermarks on Professional. Both have link in bio, a feed preview and bulk scheduling; Octoque has no Canva or watermarks.
- Analytics and competitor best times on Business. Both can re-post evergreen content.
- Phone apps for iOS and Android, and a Trustpilot score of 4.9 from over a thousand reviews.
Where Octoque is better
Golden hour on every plan
Publer’s best times are on Business. Octoque’s golden hour times each platform in a post separately, in your audience’s time zone, on every plan (on Free it times your reminders, and you post).

Accounts included in the plan
Publer charges for each account and each extra member. Octoque Creator includes 8 accounts and 2 seats for $29; Studio includes 25 accounts and 5 seats for $99.
API and AI assistants from $15
Publer’s API is for Business customers in good standing, and its MCP setup guide says access is limited for now. Octoque’s API and MCP server are on every paid plan.
Failed posts, in plain words
Octoque checks each platform’s rules before posting and emails you within minutes if one still says no, with a one-tap fix. See failed-post alerts.
One inbox for comments and DMs
Publer handles comments post by post, and a unified inbox is on its roadmap. Octoque has one: comments from Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Threads, LinkedIn, TikTok and Bluesky, DMs from Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Bluesky and Reddit, and Google review replies. It doesn’t read X.

We compared Publer’s plans page, pricing calculator, help centre and refund policy with Octoque’s own plans on 14 October 2026. Publer prices per account with volume steps, so the sums above are approximate. We did not run a long hands-on test of Publer; this compares what each company documents. Questions people ask
Is Publer cheaper than Octoque?
For 1–4 accounts, usually yes: Publer Professional starts at $5 for one account. For best times and approvals you need Publer Business, and around 5 accounts Octoque Creator ($29) costs less.
Which has the better free plan?
Publer’s, if you want free posting: it posts for you on up to 3 accounts (10 queued posts each, no X). Octoque Free doesn’t post: it plans up to 10 posts a month for 3 accounts and reminds you to post them yourself. To try Octoque’s auto-posting, use the 14-day trial (no card), then Starter at $15.
Do both auto-post Reels, TikTok and Shorts?
Yes. Publer posts all three automatically, with a reminder route for TikToks that use in-app sounds. Octoque publishes all three directly; videos over 3 minutes need a part chosen for Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.
Does Publer have an inbox?
Not a unified one: comments are handled post by post, and an inbox is on Publer’s roadmap. Octoque has one for comments, DMs and Google reviews, read live from each platform; it doesn’t cover X.
Do both refund?
Yes. Both refund within 14 days of each payment.
