Octoque vs Sprout Social: an enterprise suite or a creator scheduler?
By Kumar Gaurav, founder of OctoqueUpdated Facts checked
These tools are built for different jobs. If your team handles customer messages, reviews and reporting all day, with cases and routing, Sprout Social is built for that. Octoque lets you reply to comments, DMs and Google reviews, but has no case management, routing or listening. If you mainly publish, Sprout’s per-seat prices add up fast: Essentials is $99 per user a month and approvals start at $399 per user (monthly billing). Octoque includes approvals from $29 a month for 2 seats, or $99 in total for 5 seats and 25 accounts.
- you need a shared inbox with case management and review moderation

- you want each platform at its own hour in one post
- you want approvals without paying $399 per seat
- you want an API and MCP server on a $15 plan
- you want a refund window on every payment, renewals included

Where Octoque is better
Seats included, not sold one by one
Every Sprout user is a seat, from $99 a month (Essentials, monthly billing) to $499 (Advanced). Octoque Creator includes 2 seats for $29; Studio includes 5 for $99.
Approvals on a smaller plan
Sprout’s approval workflows start on Professional ($399 per seat monthly, $299 paid yearly). Octoque includes roles and approvals on Creator ($29) and Studio ($99).
Each platform at its own hour, in one post
Sprout suggests the best times for each profile. Octoque’s golden hour sends one post to every platform at its own time, in your audience’s time zone, without picking times by hand.

API and AI assistants on every paid plan
Sprout’s API is on Advanced, and its MCP server works with ChatGPT for TikTok insights for now. Octoque’s public API and MCP server can schedule posts from Claude, ChatGPT or your scripts on every paid plan, from $15.
Refunds and contracts
Sprout doesn’t refund unused prepaid time, and yearly plans renew automatically. Octoque bills monthly or yearly and refunds any payment within 14 days, renewals included.

Switching from Sprout Social
- Check your contractSprout doesn’t refund unused prepaid time; plan the move for your renewal date.
- Start the trialSign up for Octoque: 14 days of auto-posting to up to 3 accounts (30 posts), no card. Keep Sprout running.
- Connect your accountsSign in on each platform’s own page. Connecting to Octoque doesn’t disconnect Sprout.
- Invite your teamAdd teammates with one of six roles and turn on approvals (Creator and Studio).
- Move upcoming postsOctoque doesn’t connect to Sprout. Upload the next week or two of videos to the Library, add the posts by hand or from a spreadsheet (CSV, up to 200 rows), and delete each one from Sprout as you go, so nothing posts twice.
- Keep what Octoque doesn’t doIf your team relies on case management, review sites beyond Google, deep listening or deep reports, keep a tool for those, or stay with Sprout.

Questions people ask
Is Octoque cheaper than Sprout Social?
Yes, for publishing: Octoque Creator is $29 a month for 8 accounts and 2 seats; Sprout Essentials is $99 per seat for 5 profiles. Sprout includes things Octoque doesn’t, like case management and review moderation from Standard.
Does Sprout Social have a free plan?
No. It has a 30-day trial with no card. Octoque has a free plan, but it doesn’t post for you: it reminds you to post yourself, for 3 accounts and 10 posts a month. Auto-posting needs the 14-day trial (no card) or a paid plan from $15.
Do both auto-publish Reels, TikTok and Shorts?
Mostly. Sprout publishes Reels directly and TikTok directly for TikTok Business accounts; videos needing TikTok sounds go through its app. Octoque publishes all three directly; videos over 3 minutes need a part chosen for Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.
Can Octoque replace Sprout’s Smart Inbox?
Not for a support team. Octoque puts comments, DMs (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Bluesky, Reddit) and Google review replies in one place, read live from each platform. It has no case management, routing, saved replies, listening or other review sites, and doesn’t read X. If your team works the inbox all day, Sprout or another suite is the better fit.
Which has better best-time scheduling?
Both use your own audience data. Sprout suggests times per profile and can auto-time a queue; Octoque times each platform in one post separately, in your audience’s time zone.
